PHONE BIDS & EMAIL BIDS
We have received many requests to accept Phone Bids and email Bids. After much consideration, and our eagerness to provide additional services to our buyers, we will implement Guidelines to facilitate the Phone Bid and email Bid process.
In the past we have taken bids over the phone on an exception basis and have experienced some difficulty due to miscommunication and misunderstandings. In order to minimize and eventually eliminate these unfortunate circumstances, we will continue to evaluate our guidelines and modify them as needed to insure the success for both the Auction Company and the Buyer. Train Auction bulletin -Rate increases are never popular. Therefore, they must be justified. Try this: Expanded preview hours, questions and answers with a knowledgeable representative Friday night on the phone, Visa and MasterCard now accepted by popular demand, state of the art Internet presentation of all train lists with prices realized posted for most train auctions, interactive absentee bidding (the total of which usually exceeds one-half the auction total), insurance coverage for consignors, 1500 lists mailed 1st class for all listed auctions, as well as newsprint advertising for all auctions. The buyer's premium is 12%. However, we offer a 2% discount for cash or pre-approved check day of sale. Our commission rates are negotiable (10-20%), based on a variety of circumstances, such as size of your collection, whether or not it is delivered to us or picked-up by us, if it is a single-consignor auction or multi-consignor auction, etc. We are always looking for high quality trains and will go anywhere, anytime to get them into our auction hall.
Toy Auction bulletin - Looking ahead, we see about 6 toy actions a year: 2 pre-Easter, 2 post-Thanksgiving events, possibly 1 in September, and another in May or June. That would limit us to about 3,000 toys annually, rather than the 10,000 pieces we now sell. The bad news is that we will have to reject thousands of toys, especially those produced after 1965.
